Well, my lovely readers…it’s been over a year since my bundle of joy made his very late arrival and I know I’m well overdue a blog post!
Clearly, I wasn’t quite as ‘back’ as I thought I was going to be, following on from my last post back in September! 🙈.
A lot has happened since then and life got in the way of my writing, I’m just so ridiculously busy all the time. Woe is me :-(.
Over the last four months, my tiny baby has grown up so much, he is (can’t believe I’m going to say this) walking!! Back in September, he wasn’t even crawling, he had no teeth and could just about babble ‘mama’ and ‘dada’. Now he is up dancing, wobbling and toddling all over the shop shouting ‘nana baba go go go’ 🙈😅. He also has four teeth.
His vocabulary is becoming quite advanced now though I do wish Google Translate would add baby gobbledygook to its list of language so I’d have half a chance of understanding my son.
So, what else is knew? Christmas has been and now I’m super sad thinking how long we’ve got to go before we can be festive again! Woe is me…again.
On a brighter note, Edison loved the Christmas season, with all the flashing lights, bright colours and cheery faces. We tried, as best we could, to hide the Christmas tree from him; strategically tucking it between the arm of the sofa and the wall. However, I think we failed massively. Not two days after we put it up, it was lying on the floor with Edison underneath it laughing his little head off, tucking into a bauble as of it were an apple 🙈. Toddlers eh?!
Most importantly and as you can probably tell from the title, Edison has turned ONE! We had the loveliest little tea party for him and he had the best time with all our friends and family. He didn’t have a clue what all the fuss was about but he thoroughly enjoying tucking into some cake during his first year cake smash photoshoot!
Almost daily, I look at him now and think, how do I have a 1 year old??!! It still feels like yesterday that I was sat in hospital waiting for him to arrive.
I’ve not been shy to admit in my older posts that we didn’t have the best of starts, but this little boy is now the light of my life, my best friend, he makes me laugh until I cry and I’ve never felt love like I do with him.

Beautiful pictures 🙂 You don’t need to feel bad about the sparse blog posts. As a father of two, I’ve found it best to blog whenever it suits me rather than force myself to a regular schedule. Otherwise it will become a chore… and the last thing we parents need is another thing on our To-Do List 😛

Thank you! Yes that’s what I’m going to do going forward, I love my blog but it has had to be put on the back burner what with xmas and Edison’s birthday and I’ve just returned to work too! 🙈. Hope your doing well with your new little one!
