Going It Alone

On Friday morning Adam left home for four days to travel to Poland for a stag party.

This is the first time he’s been away since Edison was born. So, I’ve been living the somewhat single parent lifestyle for the past few days.

Naturally, since Adam is away, I’ve also flown the nest and headed back ‘home’. Home being the cosy comforts of my mum and dads house, or the Dream House, as I often refer to it.

My mum and dad live right in the Forest of Dean. They live in a lovely big house opposite a quaint little pub and an antique shop. It is the epitome of the house I would aspire to have when I grew up. Hence why I refer to it as the Dream House.

Being at my mum and dad’s, I’ve had a lot of help while Adam has been away. I’ve been able to have a shower woohoo! You won’t believe how much of a luxury having a shower is when you become a parent. I actually look forward to having a hair wash!

I’ve even been able to write some posts for my blog, something I thought I’d have no time to do so that has been a nice bonus 👍🏻.

Even though my parents are a great help, watching Edison for me and playing with him while I get things done, It’s still very different without Adam.

For all single parents out there doing this full time, I salute you!

Adam’s due home tomorrow and I can’t wait to see how excited Edison will be when he sees him walk through the door. They’ve never been away from each other for this long and I know we have all missed each other very much!
